Importance of Taking a Break

Season #1

On this episode of the Spark Influence podcast, Peter and Misty Phillip discuss the importance of taking a break, having time off, how slack time and sabbath can actually make you more productive. Taking frequent breaks through out the day while working can even be a benefit.

Misty shares how it is difficult for her to take a break from work. Peter shares serial vacationing after the death of his Father. They touch on trends in the workforce, quiet quitting, and balancing work home life, and the negative effects of the pandemic on Millennial and Gen Z's.

Scripture Resources

Genesis 2:2-3 ESV

2 And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. 3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

Exodus 20:8-11 ESV

8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Colossians 3:23-24 ESV

23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
