Misty's Podcast Journey

My first podcast appearance was in April 2017 with My Journey of Faith Radio. I still remember how nervous I was. At that time, I had no idea podcasting was even in my future.

My family kept encouraging me to get into podcasting, but I hesitated. Unsure of the technology, what I would talk about, and many other fears that plagued me. In 2018, I did two more interviews and became more comfortable with podcasting and sharing my story.  

In July 2018, I recorded my first 15 episodes of the By His Grace podcast at the She Speaks conference. I batched recorded these episodes during the pre-conference and in between sessions. 

Fast forward to 2019, we launched The By His Grace podcast on January 1, 2019, and published 48 episodes, and continues to guest on other podcasts. In May, I published The Struggle Is Real: But so is God, and it launched at #1 on Amazon. In 2020, I received an AWSA Golden Scroll award, winning first place for my Bible Study.

At the end of 2019, I began planning the first and only Christian podcast conference exclusively by and for Christian podcasters. I created the Spark Podcast Planner 2020, also debuting at #1 on Amazon and we finalized plans the Spark Christian Podcast Conference.

Spark 2020

A conference was born. The Spark Christian Podcast Conference hosted its first live event on February 21-22, 2020, and was a smashing success, just mere weeks before the global pandemic swept across the world. 

At the Spark conference, I shared my vision for an online Podcast training community, and on April 15, we opened the doors to that podcast community. The Spark Collective is now a thriving online membership community with coaching, training, accountability, and masterminds for Christian podcasters.  

My passion for podcasts ignited in 2020! We continued to produce the By His Grace podcast episodes throughout 2020 and are entering our third year with thousands of downloads each week. I was recognized for my podcasting efforts in 2020 as the first Christian Podcaster featured in Podcast magazine and was honored to be featured again in the May issue of top 50 podcasts for moms. 

Being recognized as the Christian Podcast Conference space leader, Chris Krimitsos invited me to host a one-day Spark Pod Con at Podfest Global Summit. There we attempted and set the Guinness World Record for the largest podcasting event.  

In November, we hosted the Spark Now Summit, a virtual conference to equip Christian podcasters to continue to use their voice to spark kingdom conversations while we were unable to meet in person.

Spark 2021

Spark's growth has sky-rocketed in 2021 through our strategic partnerships and alliances. It was an honor to partner with the prestigious National Religious Broadcasters for the 2021 Spark Media Conference. At the Spark Media Award Ceremony we launched the Spark Network, as a means of highlighting the work of podcasters with a Biblical worldview.

Spark Media is thrilled to partner with Glorystone to bring the Spark Network to fruition. The network is an exclusive offering for members of the Spark Collective. The Spark Network brings collaboration to the forefront of Christian podcasting by acting as a seamless directory of creatives and a searchable and listener-friendly platform with customizable features.

Spark 2022

We hosted our best event yet in March 2022 at the Third Annual Spark Media Conference in Nashville at the Gaylord Opryland in conjunction with the NRB Media Convention. In May 2022, Spark Media launched the Spark Radio initiative. Spark Media created the Spark Radio initiative to curate a collection of faith-based audio & video content to be distributed across on-demand audio and live streams in partnership and collaboration with our radio and media partners. God continues to open doors for Spark Media and Christian podcasting.
